Prep Notes

When cooking something simple like grilled fish, baked or grilled chicken, steamed shrimp, vegetables or even putting together a salad - think "travel" as an inspiration for flavors!    Here are some favorite standbys:

Thai:

Basil, cilantro, mint, scallions, dash fish sauce, soy sauce, red pepper flakes, garlic and ginger, limes or oranges, sesame oil

Japanese:

Miso paste, soy sauce, sesame oil, sesame seed, pickled ginger, fresh ginger, roasted garlic, pickled vegetables

Italian:

Basil, tomato, red pepper flakes, garlic, olive oil, lemons

Mediterranean:

Oregano, black pepper, garlic, red onion, lemon, olives, olive oil

Tex Mex:

Oregano, cilantro, scallion, tomato, garlic, cumin, limes, olive oil

France:

Tarragon, marjoram, thyme, orange, fennel, lemon, butter
